I set out on a super rainy late afternoon to catch up with my man, Martin Wittfooth out in Brooklyn. Martin and I have been bumping into each other at one art show bar or another for sometime now but the only thing I though we had in common was booze. Turns out Martin is another one of those super humble artists who doesn't really talk about himself all that much. So once I did the math and realized he is not only Viner’s right hand homeboy but also a bad-ass painter, I figured a studio visit was in order. As it would turn out Martin and I are pretty eye to eye on the party tip and the studio visit nearly ruined my life. Regardless, I wouldn't trade it for all the paint in Pearl. Got this started with Martin getting "snook"... Welcome to the club Martin!

Martin has a very cozy studio (maybe too cozy)...

I mentioned Martin paints, right!

And paints nasty like... Definitely something concrete being said in this one... Notice the blimps. For some reason I am thinking gluttony.

This piece takes place right around the corner from Martins studio, and according to my calculations, the studio is under water.

This is the where Dewd spends most of his time.

I can appreciate a good frame or a small pile of good frames... Jeremy Fish and his stylistic frame-jobs got me really appreciating a good frame... What up Fish?

By this time we had polished of more than a few beers and....

With a bit of booze in me I started to get a bit more intrusive.

The piece in the chair just found a new home... And will being seeing it's share of Absinth, if that gives you a clue who picked it up. Nope not me!

To keep his skills sharp Martin bangs out a portrait a week in the East Village, all for the sake of stepping it up.

This one looks like she could move.

While this one looks like she has something bothering her.

Martin has done some snowboard designs for some pretty large clients.

Like Sims, who apparently likes to keep costs pretty low... bummer!

This is where the magic begins, after the concept plants it’s seed.

Here are a couple prints of some older works... One of which was shown at his Copro Nason show.

Mixed in with a couple Jonathan Viner A.P.'s... Martin helps Viner get shit done in the print studio. Not a bad gig, I'm sure!

About now is when we both started to 'drunk text' the entire planet, sorry if you were among the casualties.

We are out of Absinth, so Martin calls for back up!

And I struggle pretty hard to make out what my phone was saying with all these blurred letters and stuff….%&!?!!?

Back up failed us... So we started in on this creamy crud... Don't know, don't wanna know!

Hello wet ass Brooklyn City Street. I am pretty sure that one way sign is pointing downward, could it be a sign.... I know it is a sign, I mean like a clue?!

Ended up at the Wreck Room, and I think we had 2 of the best sandwiches ever made... and played some of this here....

Pool game stuff, for like a second, since my attention span was about that long.

After a free shot of some terrible Ta-Kill-Ya thanks to the tender being a fan of Fecal Face we decided to go have a 'street art' photo shoot that was slightly delayed because Martin found some new boots he liked!

He suggested I finish it off... but I was full, darn!

We past by this crafty, installation? Hmmm, yeah! Maybe I should try to put myself in their shoes for a minute... Yeah, think not!

On the way to the Subway, Martin wanted to take a break on his buddy 'Benny the Bums' sofa... He seemed to think I was in need of a couple fingers. I probably was, to tell the truth!

But we pressed on and at the Morgan stop I admired the rotting paint as I have done, so many times in the past.

And realized the seriousness of my actions and tried to forgive myself... I didn't and still haven't... But hey, that's another post! {moscomment}
