Out here in NYC, 3k miles west out in SF, down south in old LA, across the seas where the Queen is still running shit, over to Asia where a slide kung-fu chop will take off ones head and pretty much everywhere on the planet, there are mobs of fiends dripping wet over KAWS. I cannot say I blame them in the least. I mean the guy has been getting up hard in an undisputable fashion for well over a decade. He is by no means one of these 1-time, 5-points throw-ups kings. KAWS was pushing the bounds of street artwork and graffiti long before most of these paper pushers were mixing their first batch of paste. Long before it was coined as 'street art'.

New York City Bus Stop advertisement modifications, street installs, ill-tastic full color aerosol lettering worth writing home to Mom about. Industrial rooftop hangovers, that are visible from the Holland Tunnel. I would be talking up the one on the Jersey side, representing his pre Brooklyn, Jersey City roots... Word up!

All that said, the obsessive cult following that rolls with KAWS is simply a true testament to a modern, dare I say 'street art' pioneer. Getting his due, on his own terms. He was playing all these games way before it was 'in vogue'. Back when is was still just about the kaws, and not some fast track to gallery success. With this mild rant in mind, you all should recognize the dominant force that is KAWS, ya heard. Enjoy the adventure, is all its briefness.

I stopped through Bayonne (out in Jerz) to borrow a camera from my right hand rabbit, Wallace. (I got so twisted with Martin the night before I left my juicer at the bar) But yes, he is a cool motherfucker that Wallace, and Martin is pretty solid too.

I tried to get Wallace to roll with me but he was pretty into his latest self-help book. That Wallace never fails to amaze. He is actually thinking about running some Fecal Face journalism. He used to be a staff photographer for these guys, but he has since moved on.

He did give me a solid lead on a hole that would take me right into 'The City' lickity split. He's a rabbit, he specializes in holes.

Sure enough right left me right down the street from Time Square. Fuck a bunch of Time Square, by the way!

How many of you gamer heads have grinded Joey's sculpture in the old-school Tony Hawk Pro Skater. Yeah, it's been a few years but was fun in those days. Hey, did you know this guy did some of the cityscapes for those games back in the day. Yup, Greg Simkins was ill on the digital tip too, before he became pop-surrealism royalty as far as I the art market is concerned. Blew up fast for good reason. Make sure you check out his graffiti from years back, and be prepared to soil yourself.

Hello, it is a KAWS show post... remember!

I was way late because I am terrible like that... But luckily, there was still a bunch of KAWS heads around.

This could be the result of David Letterman and Sponge Bob's mom having a one nighter.

On my way out I ran into Armand Von Plotho, who is crazy famous (Which I realized with some random as heck google searching, not sure why but look what I found). Normally I don't get all star struck but it's THE. Apparently he is booked at Radio City. Seriously, he told me just before he yelled at me for not tossing him a buck after taking his picture. He is also available for Birthday parties and Bar Mitzvahs, but before you book him keep in mind he is German, could get awkward. What, did thought a KAWS show post it would be all color and candy? It's still New York City after all.
